# What to expect from coaching

### **What to Expect in Your Coaching Journey**

Te Heke Mai coaching programme is where you’ll work with your coach to set values-based goals and create an action plan to achieve them. The coaches provide wraparound social support, guiding you through each step of your journey. This holistic approach not only supports you in your job search but also in your overall personal and professional development.

#### **How a Coach Can Support You:** 

- **Explore Your Values & Priorities:** We’ll work together to identify what matters most to you and determine the best next steps for your growth and success. 

- **Set Clear, Achievable Goals:** Whether it's getting back into employment, preparing for job applications, getting unstuck, adjusting to big life changes, or personal growth, we'll help you set specific, actionable goals. Using the S.M.A.R.T. goal framework, we’ll break down big goals into manageable steps. 

- **Track Progress & Stay Motivated:** Regular contact with your coach will help you stay on track, providing ongoing support and accountability. 

- **Overcome Challenges:** We’ll assist you in navigating any obstacles, ensuring you continue making progress. 

- **Tailored Job Search Support:** Receive personalised guidance on refining your CV, preparing for interviews (including mock questions and feedback), and developing a clear, actionable job search strategy to improve your chances of success. 

- **Navigate Additional Resources:** Based on your needs, your coach can help connect you with other tools or services that may support your progress. 

#### **What You’ll Get:** 

- **Regular Check-Ins:** Stay accountable with consistent support from your coach. 

- **Personalised Strategies & Resources:** Receive tailored resources, strategies, and tools to help you achieve your goals. 

#### **Key Points to Remember:** 

- Your conversations with the Te Heke Mai Team are confidential, though we may need to report if there’s a risk of harm to you or others. 
- We ask for at least 15 minutes per week for coaching interactions. 
- While we don’t provide expert career advice or mental health support, we can refer you to other services if needed.
